In partnership with Pacific Lutheran University, AsiaLearn offers a semester at Sichuan University in Chengdu, China. A key national research university with a history of more than 100 years, Sichuan University is a comprehensive institution with the widest selection of disciplines in West China. Sichuan University enjoys a deep cultural background and eminent scholarly research tradition. The university is dedicated to the internationalization of China's higher education system and actively seeks opportunities for collaboration and scientific research with institutions of higher education and corporate partners all over the world. Sichuan University Academic Areas
Sichuan University developed the Center of China Studies to specifically address the needs of international students who wish to learn about Chinese language and culture. This program offers a range of courses to meet the academic needs of students from a variety of academic areas and requires no prior language study.
Courses are offered in the following academic areas:
- Chinese Language (intensive and non-intensive)
- Arts
- Business
- Environmental Studies
- Humanities
- Social Studies
There is no language requirement as all courses are taught in English.
About China

Philosophers, emperors, foreign conquerors, political leaders, and civil war have all left their marks on China's colorful history, but the people's culture has endured and remained constant.
In recent years, China has emerged from isolation and captured the attention of the world by accomplishing astonishing technical achievements and driving their economy at a dazzling pace. The blending of ancient traditions, technological advancement, economic reform, and government control is creating a new China that is dynamic and cannot be defined in conventional ways. There is no argument that China will continue to make a significant impact on world affairs, but just how and to what extent is the topic of much debate.
About AsiaLearn
AsiaLearn provides college/university students with study abroad opportunities in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, and Thailand. Students may participate in a semester, year or summer abroad program. AsiaLearn provides guaranteed housing, 24-hour in-country support, survival language training, an in-country orientation, and comprehensive pre-departure services. Students of all majors are welcome to apply, and no prior language skill is required. Some or all courses are taught in English at each university, and foreign language classes are strongly encouraged.
