Academics
The Pantheon Institute's faculty consists of experts from American, Italian, and European universities - all dynamic professors who engage and challenge students to make their time abroad an intellectual as well as cultural experience. Students frequently learn on-site with professors, an unparalleled opportunity in a city like Rome. Imagine archaeology lectures in the Roman Forum surrounded by ancient ruins, or studying art history under the ceiling of Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel. In addition, the Institute maintains connections with the Vatican, the Italian Parliament, and other institutions to give students a closer look at Italian life. The Pantheon Institute is recognized by the Ministry of Education in Italy, and accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) through its partnership with Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut.

Subjects Offered
Students may take courses in the following subject areas: art history, history, classical studies, international business, interdisciplinary Italian studies, literature and creative writing, political science, and studio art. All courses except advanced Italian courses are taught in English. Students must enroll in a 4 or 6-credit Italian language course (prior study of Italian is not required) and also choose from elective courses for a range of 12-15 credits per semester. The Pantheon Institute offers an innovative academic program that provides its students with several curricular options. Students enrolled in the General Studies Program take an intensive Italian language and culture course in addition to other elective courses. Students interested in a more challenging academic experience can take advantage of independent research opportunities and honors courses.
