Moscow is the heart of Russia as the capital and one of its oldest cities. It is the center of government, commerce, religion, science, education and culture. Its diverse art, music and literature are the result of 850 years of history. Its unique heritage and architecture are unmatched in all of Europe.
Moscow is famous for its museums, art galleries, cathedrals, shops, restaurants and night clubs. The Moscow Kremlin, Red Square and Old Arbat are at the center of this incredible city.
Moscow is at the forefront of social and economic change in Russia. A move from communism to capitalism, from authoritarian rule to democratic choice, from religious intolerance to freedom of worship, and from state controlled academia to privately funded research and education. The people of Moscow are energetic, welcoming, receptive to new ideas and eager to rejoin the world economy. There is no doubt that Moscow is one of the most exciting and fascinating cities in the world.

Students
reside on campus at the MSU residence hall in the main (?Lomonosov?) building. Rooms are single-occupancy, but part of a two-room suite sharing a small living area and bathroom. The Lomonosov Building is world famous for its exceptional architecture and size. It is the largest and tallest university building in the world. In addition to the Main Dormitory, the Lomonosov Building houses several faculties, administrative offices, various shops, a bank and a cafeteria. You will be living with other international students studying at MSU, in the international wing.
You can generally count on about 9 square meters of personal space furnished with a bed, table, and cabinet. You will share toilet, shower, and kitchen facilities. In the dorm there are also generally cafeterias and often snack bars and/or cafés. Please note as well that the beds in dormitories are generally quite small, very often no more than a cot.
