Program Overview

“Be one of the first to track the end-to-end smart phone supply chain from component materials to the finished product to the end user experience.”

This program is designed to provide an in-depth, on-the-ground look at global business, environmental sustainability, supply chain management and the electronics industry. Through the lens of the smart phone supply chain, participants will visit world-class manufacturing and logistics companies in China, such as: Phicomm, Huawei, Samsung, NCAB and Yangshan Deepwater Port.

During this 11-day program, under the content direction and guidance of Dr. Oya Tukel, Chair and Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management at Cleveland State University, students will gain a better understanding of companies that are redefining supply chain management. At the same time, students will engage with and learn from actual smart phone users in China, their peers and local students, through integrated experiences to share perspectives on different cultures and smart phone use habits. This program provides not only an engaging and unique academic learning experience, but also a once in a lifetime opportunity to witness firsthand the increasingly interconnected world.
